Chapters 6-7



CHAPTERS 6 - 7

 Here we zoom in to a specific part of the book featuring Morgan, Kae, and Suzanne. Closely observe their interactions and relationship. Something significant happens in these chapters. Read on to find out:  

Morgan and Kae is in a dating relationship, however, Kae is constantly thinking of the past when Suzanne and Morgan were together.  Suzanne is the daughter of Fong Mei and is Beatrice’s sister.  Suzanne met Morgan at the age of 15 and when they were both 16 they had a child together.  Beatrice and Keeman get married after 4 years of them being in a relationship together.  They move into a small apartment and pregnant Suzanne lives with them too.

Fong Mei begins to question Suzie about who the father of her unborn baby was.  Suzie then begins to explain that the child is Morgan Keung and Chi wong’s.  Fong Mei then closes her eyes at has flashbacks about her love for Ting An and how they could’ve has a life and family together.  She wonders what her life would be like if she left with Ting An, the man she loved, would’ve been a better decision than staying with Choy Fuk and all his money.  Suzie dies the same year Kae was born.   

Suzie opens up to her mother and tells who the father of the child was and her mother just runs away into her room.  Their grandmother is laying in bed sick and insisting that Bea and Keeman should not stay together in a relationship because they are siblings.  

While Suzie and Morgans are together, Mogan gets arrested for stealing money and a car.  He had previously been arrested for committing a petty theft.  During this Suzie gets a nervous breakdown and her water breaks.  She is sent to the on the verge of death.  Suzie gives birth to the child but it is a still born.


Beatrice realizes that her and Keeman are not the siblings while she is pregnant.  It is Suzie and Morgan who are the related.  Mui Lan then dies.  Suzie is laying in bed waiting for Beatrice and Keeman to pick her up.  She is extremely weak from that night, she has no energy to move, including walking or eating.  When Beatrice comes to pick her her up, Suzie lies and says that she is healthy. Not long after, Suzie dies of a suicide.
